Universal Orlando?s Halloween Horror Nights 24 opened to the public Sept. 19. With a total of eight haunted houses (five headliners and three originals), the return of scare zones, and two shows, this year?s lineup was truly ?fright-tastic?.
MASKcrade: Unstitched was a great first zone to encounter. With great costumes and amazing props and scares, walking into this zone would make you feel that party vibe. On a scale of 1 to 5, this zone was given a rating of 5 for good scares and wonderful creativity.
The Purge: Anarchy: with a mix of parts and iconic characters from both movies The Purge: Anarchy zone was one of the most elaborate zones of the night. With heavy music playing through the air and purgers everywhere, fans of the movies were truly served with the unique scares and props. This zone received a rating of 5 for the look of the environment and the key elements.
Face Off: In The Flesh: This scare zone was truly well imagined, with using actual creations from the show, using those kind of key things is what brought in guests and with having five actors out for a certain time and then switching them out for another group of five is what gives this zone a 5.
Bayou of Blood: Having a New Orleans setting and live human sacrifices going, on this zone left team members cheering, which gave this zone a 4.

From Dusk Till Dawn: From Robert Rodriguez and El Ray Studios- From when you walk into the well-known biker bar The twister, you think all is well, but then one of the dancers turns out to be a blood thirsty vampire and you realize you?re not in an ordinary club. You?ll travel deeper and deeper into the tomb of the club and encounter vampires left and right and maybe see a blood bath. Scare rating: 4.
The Walking Dead: End of The Line. Back for the third time in a row, this house picks up where 2013?s No Safe Haven left off. There is only one goal for you, get to Terminus while avoiding the walkers. Scare rating: 5.
AVP: ALIEN VS. PREDATOR. Two of the greatest sci-fi creatures are at it once again and you have just walked into their battle. Their battle may be with each other, but if you?re caught in their tracks they?re coming for you and if there is a winner in this sci-fi battle, we lose. With the use of fantastic puppets and great scares the AVP house is sure to do well thanks to last year?s An American Werewolf in London. Scare rating: 4.
Dracula Untold: Reign of Blood. Witness the terrifying journey into darkness that transformed the legendary Vlad the Impaler, a hero to the people of his village, into the monstrous prince of darkness that we know today as Dracula. You?ll come face to face with Turks attacking the village and watch as Dracula deals with them in his own way. This house will leave you thinking, is Dracula really a monster or is he more of a hero? Scare rating: 4.
Giggles & Gore INC. Some say Evil Clowns are born but those people are wrong for in this factory Evil Clowns are made and you ask how they are made. That?s where you come in to the story for you are the ones that keep this factory going and every day at Giggles & Gore is a happy day. So watch out or you?ll be the next born Evil Clown. Scare rating: 5.
Halloween. It?s the night that he lives for, it?s his Christmas, and it?s the night he comes home. Follow in the footsteps of Michael Myers himself as you encounter him from left to right at every corner and every turn he will be there waiting for you. Experience the beginning of Michael?s historic night of terror as you walk through John Carpenter?s classic original film. Scare rating: 5.
Dollhouse of The Dammed. Heed this warning: Those who enter risk becoming one of the unfortunate souls with no hope of escape. Surviving the malicious dolls who wait inside will be anything but child?s play. You will truly find great scares inside this house. Scare rating: 5.
Roanoke- Cannibal Colony. Known as the lost colony of the 16th century, once home to many settlers but soon many disappeared and the rest was history. The settlers soon switched to Cannibalism and are on the hunt in search of new blood and fresh meat. Think you can figure out the mystery of the lost colony or will you be the next meal of one of the cannibalized settlers. This will truly be one history lesson you will never forget. Scare rating: 4.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show: A Tribute. Since its final show at HHN 2010 we thought we saw the last of yet another fan loved show, but in 2013 it had a huge comeback and by popular demand its back at HHN 24. Experience the story of the newly engaged Brad and Janet?s night at a nearby castle where they encounter some not-so-typical guests all gathering to see a mad scientist make life. You?ll be up on your feet dancing to the Time Warp and singing to your favorite songs from the classic cult film. With an amazing cast with stunning voices and fan favorite characters, you?ll be wanting to see this show over and over again. Performance/Show rating: 5.
Bill & Ted?s Excellent Halloween Adventure. Party on as those two most excellent dudes return to skewer, and make fun of the top names in pop culture, politics, and shows and movies of the past year. Filled with tons of jokes towards Disney, pyrotechnics and a whole lot of stuff to make you laugh until your sides hurt, this year?s show will keep you coming for more every night of the event.
